Meet Luke Foster.  Luke is a senior from Kennedy High School, and is in the middle of his second year at BIG.  Through BIG, Luke has been able to further work on his passions in a way that he wasn’t able to do back at his home school (“mothership”).

“Lots of the projects I’ve been doing have involved coding. Last year, I did a lot with web design. It was great to learn skills apply them to a project, rather than learn stuff in a classroom setting and not do anything with it. This year, I’ve been working on a lot more software skills. I’ve been able to help with development of Project BBQ as an intern for their team. (Project BBQ is BIG’s proprietary learning management system). I plan to go into software engineering next year, and this year at BIG I’ve been able to solidify that decision through the work I’ve been able to accomplish. I feel like I learn more here than a I do at normal school. I get more out of it because I enjoy the things we do and the way we do them here.”
